Getting Started with MyAttenzef
Welcome to the MyAttenzef Help Center. Whether you're an administrator setting up the system for the first time, a faculty member managing class attendance, or a student learning how to check in, we've got you covered with comprehensive guides and support resources.
For Administrators
System administrators play a crucial role in deploying and managing MyAttenzef across your institution. Our platform offers powerful tools for user management, system configuration, and institutional oversight.
Initial Setup and Configuration
Begin by configuring your institution's profile, including campus locations, buildings, and classrooms. Set up Feels Effortless boundaries for location-based attendance verification. Configure device fingerprinting policies to ensure secure check-ins from registered devices only. Import your course schedules, faculty roster, and student database using our CSV import tool or integrate directly with your existing student information system (SIS).
User Management and Permissions
Create administrator accounts with granular permission levels. Assign faculty members to their respective courses and grant them appropriate access levels. Bulk import student accounts and automatically enroll them in their registered courses. Set up role-based access controls to ensure data privacy and security compliance across your institution.
System Monitoring and Analytics
Access real-time dashboards showing attendance trends across departments, courses, and individual classes. Monitor system health, API usage, and performance metrics. Generate comprehensive reports for accreditation, compliance, and institutional research purposes. Set up automated alerts for unusual attendance patterns or system issues.
For Faculty Members
Faculty members are at the heart of the MyAttenzef experience. Our intuitive interface makes attendance tracking effortless while providing valuable insights into student engagement.
Starting a New Class Session
Log into your faculty dashboard and select the course you're teaching. Start a new attendance session by clicking the "Start Check-In" button. Choose your preferred check-in method: dynamic QR code, facial recognition, or manual verification. The system automatically displays a rotating QR code that refreshes every 10 seconds, preventing screenshot sharing and ensuring only physically present students can check in.
Managing Check-In Windows
Set flexible check-in windows based on your class needs. Configure early check-in allowances for students arriving before class starts. Enable late check-in grace periods for students caught in traffic or moving between distant buildings. Close check-ins automatically when the designated window expires, or manually close them at any time.
Real-Time Attendance Monitoring
Watch as students check in through the live attendance dashboard. Receive instant notifications when students check in. Identify missing students at a glance with color-coded attendance indicators. Flag attendance issues immediately and reach out to students who haven't checked in. Export attendance data for your records or grade book integration.
Managing Exceptions and Adjustments
Handle attendance exceptions with ease. Manually mark students present if they experienced technical difficulties. Record excused absences for students with valid documentation. Add notes to attendance records for future reference. Review and approve student-submitted attendance correction requests through the faculty portal.
For Students
Students benefit from a streamlined, mobile-first check-in experience that takes seconds to complete while ensuring accurate attendance records.
Downloading and Setting Up the Mobile App
Download the MyAttenzef mobile app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Create your account using your institutional email address. Verify your identity through the secure two-factor authentication process. Complete your profile setup, including uploading a clear facial recognition photo. Register your device fingerprint to enable secure check-ins.
Checking In to Class
Open the MyAttenzef app when you arrive at class. The app automatically detects nearby active check-in sessions using Bluetooth and Feels Effortless. Select your class from the list of available sessions. Choose your preferred check-in method: scan the instructor's QR code, use facial recognition, or check in manually. Receive instant confirmation when your attendance is successfully recorded.
Viewing Your Attendance History
Access your complete attendance history through the mobile app or web portal. View attendance percentages for each of your enrolled courses. Identify classes where your attendance is falling below institutional requirements. Download attendance reports for your personal records or scholarship verification. Set up push notifications to remind you about upcoming classes.
Requesting Attendance Corrections
If you believe your attendance was incorrectly recorded, submit a correction request through the app. Provide detailed information about the issue, including the date, time, and course. Attach supporting documentation such as medical notes or official excuses. Track the status of your request and receive notifications when your instructor responds. Appeal denied requests to department administrators if necessary.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
QR Code Scanning Problems
If you're having trouble scanning QR codes, ensure your camera has permission to access the camera in your device settings. Clean your camera lens and ensure adequate lighting in the classroom. Move closer to the display showing the QR code. If the QR code is updating too quickly, ask your instructor to temporarily pause rotation. Restart the app if scanning continues to fail.
Facial Recognition Not Working
Facial recognition issues are often related to lighting or photo quality. Ensure you're in a well-lit area with even lighting across your face. Remove sunglasses, hats, or other accessories that might obstruct your face. Update your facial recognition photo if you've significantly changed your appearance. Check that your device camera meets minimum quality requirements. Contact support if the issue persists after trying these steps.
Device Fingerprint Errors
Device fingerprinting ensures only authorized devices can check in. If you receive a device fingerprint error, verify that you're using a registered device. Re-register your device if you've recently updated your operating system. Clear your app cache and data, then log in again to re-establish the fingerprint. Contact your IT administrator if you need to register a new device.
Location Services Issues
Feels Effortless requires accurate location services to verify you're physically present on campus. Enable location services for the MyAttenzef app in your device settings. Ensure you're connected to campus WiFi or cellular data. Move to a different location in the classroom if you're experiencing GPS interference. Allow the app to access location "Always" rather than "While Using" for best results.
